Whether you’re in need of some pick-me-up power or something to go with your moment of dolce far niente, these candles will fill your home with the scent of happy thoughts and possibility.
Smells Like…Under the Tuscan Sun
Close your eyes and find yourself under the Tuscan sun, sitting in the shade of a lemon tree, looking out at a landscape of cypress-lined terraces. Goutal’s Un Air d’Hadrien candle blends a fresh citrus aroma with a warm base note of cypress. Just add Cantuccini and a good book.
Smells Like…Colette’s Garden
Enter the doors of La Treille Muscate, home to French novelist Sidonie Gabrielle Colette, widely known for her novella Gigi, and perhaps even more known for living precisely as she pleased. Linger in the sumptuous garden, bathed by the golden light of the French Riviera. Amongst the intoxicating smell of jasmine, pine and sun-drenched fig, one of France’s most beloved writers could close her eyes and just be…Colette.
Smells Like…Macaron Heaven
The wonderful aroma of milky almond is folded with a ripple of black cherry in an aromatic mimic of a macaron delight. Warmly infused with soft and spicy cinnamon and anise, in just a hint of out-of-the-ordinary. This candle is the perfect petit treat to self!
Smells like…A Pristine Slice of Island Heaven
Close your eyes and breathe in shockingly aquamarine waters, rugged jungle, white sand beaches… Sip from your glass of fresh coconut water and listen to the sound of waves. Who’d ever thought that your secret untouched tropical hideaway can be lighted from a single candle?
Smells Like…A Mild August Day in Brazil
Austrian writer, playwright, journalist and biographer, Stefan Zweig came to Brazil to escape the barbarities of WWII. Here, in his snowy white villa perched under terracotta roofs, he would live, longing for the days past, breathing in the Brazilian humid sweet air filled with notes of intoxicating ylang ylang, patchouli and sandalwood.
A rose is a rose, but this opulent and poetic arrangement of precious blushing rose, powdery violet and ylang ylang combined with succulent peach and juicy raspberry, and a hint of spicy, resinous amberwood, is a friend forever.
When JFK met French aristocrat Albert Fouquet in 1937, he fell in love with Fouquet’s hand-crafted fragrance and asked him for a sample. Back in the US, John asked Albert to please send him eight more samples, “And if your production allows, another one for Bob,” with Bob being JFK’s brother; Robert F. Kennedy. Albert fulfilled the order and labeled the bottles and boxes with John’s amusing request: “Eight & Bob.” With top notes of Pink Pepper, Cardamom and Lemon, heart notes of Violet Leafs, Labdanum and Dry Woods, base notes of Sandalwood, Amber, Vetiver, and secret and rare ingredient, the Chilean ‘Andrea’ plant, this candle evokes dinner with friends at Camelot.
